When I read ‘She wrapped him in swaddling clothes,’ I longed to do the same, and He Himself taught me that I might still do so in the person of His poor, and a great desire was born within me to go out and find the poor that I might find Him.”     Mary Virginia Merrick

In 2011, the 40 Christ Child Chapters distributed over 22,000 layettes with a value in excess of $1.2 million.  The layettes, like every Christ Child Society project,  are customized to fit the needs of the community.  In the south the quilts are made out of flannel and in the north are made out of two layers of fleece, some layettes get a snowsuit and some have short sleeve onsies but they are all given, for the love of the Christ Child, to moms in need.
