History

The Chicago Chapter was originally chartered in 1907.  Records indicate that 70 ladies attended the first meeting.  By 1916 there were 1,248 members including 302 gentlemen and their dues were $6.00 for ladies and $5.00 for gentlemen.

The Chapter remained active until 1978.  At hat time the then President, Mrs. Don Reuben, notified National that the Chapter would disband due to the drastic increase in baby clothing costs coupled with the resistance of the membership to increse the current dues.

In December, 1995, Jane Krez Helmer re-activated the Chapter in an effort to rekindle the charity in which she participated as a young child with her mother.  Although the Chapter today is small, it continues to be active in service of children for the love of the Christ Child.
