History

The Christ Child Society of Baltimore Chapter was first founded in 1905, and subsequently retired.  The idea to re-charter the Baltimore Chapter came to Cathleen White, after being inspired by the service work done by a college friend, Anne Easby-Smith, and Cathleen’s daughter, Emily White, both of whom are active in the Washington, DC Christ Child Chapter.  Cathleen gathered a group of friends together in the fall of 2012 and the work of the Baltimore Chapter formally began.   It is being led by a very capable group of women made up of all faiths whose mission is to serve the needs of children/parents in the Baltimore community. Baltimore currently serves sixteen partner organizations: five schools, three shelters, two soup kitchens and six assistance centers.
